Mixbook is awesome!!! I posted a scrapbook on Feb. 14th, of my and my best friend Lara. The website is so easy to use. It lets you upload as many pictures as you want and then you can start creating you own scrapbook. They have templates you can use or you can create your own. You can even invite your friends to join and all of you can upload pictures and work together on a scrapbook. They have a bunch of cute borders and stickers so you can personalize each page. Once your finished you can post your scrapbook your blog or Facebook or you can have it printed off for a fee. This website is very user friendly. My roommate is getting married next June and the bridesmaids are all working together on a scrapbook to give to the bride the day of the wedding.

RSS Feed is interesting. At first I was not sure what I was doing. I had to bring in my roommate to help out. Once I knew what I was doing it was easy. For my technology site I picked ZDNet News to keep me updates on all things high tech. For my educational website I added the America Learns Blog/Website. I work for them and the site and blog are filled with teaching techniques made up by tutors. For my three interest sites I picked Facebook, International Movie Database, and Flixster. I really love movies and I am always on Facebook.
The feed will probably not keep me in check. I would have to make iGoogle my homepage, and I like have the schools website up. I like iGoogle and maybe when I am done with school I will use it more but right now school is my main focus so have IUPUI as my homepage seems more logical.

Roxio Photo Show!

Photo Show is a website where you can take your favorite pictures and create a slide show. It is very user-friendly, and very self explanatory. All you have to do is add you pictures and personalize it. You can choose the style, the music, and captions. My favorite part was making a title because you can put who is starring in you slide show and who the director is. Some other options are adding thought bubbles, stickers and borders to make the slide show more interesting. I had a great time making my slide show (posted Feb. 9th). I used my little sister's senior pictures (which I took) and put them together is a show that she can use for her open house when she graduates!

What is a podcast?

A Podcast is distribution of audio or video media files through the Internet for others do download or just listen to.
When I think of pod casting I think of the TV show iCarly from Nickelodeon. Carly and two of her friends have their own web show where they record themselves doing funny things and post it on the Internet for others to watch.
Fun Fact: The movie "Zenon Girl of the 21st Century" (Disney Original) shows a young girl living in a space shuttle. There is one scene where she is in a class room in this scene the teacher is using pod casting to teach the class. Now this movie was made in 1999 before we realized that this type of technology could be used in the classroom.
This shows you that we are only moving forward!

Pod casting with Audacity

I am not a fan of pod casting! I watched the video on the homepage and followed step by step but was unable to get anything to work for me. After that I went to Googled pod casting and I found some good sites but I always got to a point on the site where I was not sure what to do next. I was super excited to make a pod cast, I was going to talk about some of my favorite quotes that help me get through the day. I downloaded Audacity but I could not get the mp3 thing to download and the youtube video made it look at lot easier than it was. So I just went to Audacity and started playing around but could not get anything to record. There is a good chance that it is my computer because I had to by this one by myself (dropped a glass of coke on the last one) so I tried to make it a cheap has possible by not getting all the "who haws." I am excited to see what my fellow classmates have done and I will def. be trying it again.!!!
